70年代〜80年代にかけてJAPANの創設メンバー／ドラマーとして活躍したSteve Jansen氏。JAPANの活動後は、高橋幸宏氏や坂本龍一氏のサポートや、自身のバンド”EXIT NORTH”などで活動。たくさんの場所で演奏をしてきました。
音楽活動だけでなく、写真家としての顔も持つ彼は、JAPAN、YMOといった親しい仲間たちと過ごした時間を70年代から撮りためていました。その素晴らしい写真たちを、VIVA地下スペースにて、展示・販売いたします。バンドメンバーだからこその親密さと、Steve氏のユニークな視線を感じることができる写真たちを、ぜひ観にきていただけたら嬉しいです。
また、今回は、Steve氏撮影の写真を使用したTシャツやスウェットなどもVIVAで制作しました。そちらの詳細も、追ってアナウンスいたしますので、ぜひ楽しみにお待ちください！
Steve Jansen was a founding member and drummer of JAPAN, active in the band during the 1970s and 1980s. After his time with JAPAN, he supported artists like Yukihiro Takahashi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and continues with his own band 'EXIT NORTH' and solo projects.
Steve is also an accomplished photographer. Since the 1970s, he has captured moments with his close friends JAPAN and YMO, and we are excited to showcase and sell these lovely photographs at VIVA’s underground space.
We invite you to come and experience these photographs, which reflect both the intimate relationships of band members and Steve’s unique perspective.
Additionally, we’ve produced T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring Steve's photography, which will also be available at VIVA. We will announce more details shortly, so please stay tuned!
